UAL Performing & Production Arts End of Year Showcase for 2024/25

This exciting showcase focusses on 2 Acts

Act 1 – Showcasing acting skills and discipline. Act 2 is a showcase of each students creative skills developed throughout the year.


Act 1:  “Tradition V’s Rebellion!”

“Gormenghast” written by Mervyn Peake, will be performed as the central UAL Performing and Production acting presentation in a condensed stage version of this epic tale of Three Acts of ritual, words, rebellion and a fixed focus of no change to the Gormenghast way of life.

This play centres around the mundanity of fixture of tradition that has been implemented through years of ceremony and constricted practice. One individual, a lowly kitchen boy, Steerpike decides to implement change by delivering Rebellion and chaos no matter the cost to all who follow the Gormenghast way of life. Act 2:  “Emotion =’s Destination!”

The Second Act of “A Play on Words” features a personalised showcase of all UAL acting students selected pieces of work, ranging from Poetry, Solo Singing, Solo Movement Pieces, Acting Classical and Modern Texts, Musical Duets and Group Dance Medleys.

This showcase of work is fast paced and centres specifically around the stimulus of words “Emotion =’s Destination!”, each performance connects to the other, resulting in a unique portfolio of emotional creative performances that are performed to the desired destination, the audience.
